Discover EU is an initiative of the European Union that gives 18-year-old youths the opportunity to travel across Europe by train for free. It is a unique opportunity for young people to be immersed in the magic of travel to discover new destinations in Europe and explore its cultural diversity. The adventures are filled with new experiences, cultural discoveries, and breathtaking views. A bigger goal of the program is to grant the youth a distinguished opportunity to develop a sense of European identity through building new friendships in the region.
The Discover EU program uses train as a means of transportation as the railway network connects numerous European countries, making it easier to access more of Europe’s cities and towns, allowing the youth to experience more of Europe’s natural beauty. Moreover, trains are a more sustainable mode of transport compared to airplanes, reducing the carbon footprint of travel and encouraging environmentally responsible habits among young people.

Austria’s cultural capital Vienna will be the third destination where participants explore musical traditions and landmarks like Schönbrunn Palace and St. Stephen’s Cathedral, where classical heritage meets modern culture.
